The tour kicks off around 10:00 AM when a semi-private van picks you up from your centrally located hotel in Montevideo. If you prefer to make your own way to the winery, the experience starts at 11:00 AM.
Upon arrival at Bodega Bouza, situated roughly 20 kilometers from Montevideo, you'll embark on a guided tour of the vineyards and the winery. Here, you'll discover the fascinating history of this family-run business and delve into the wine production process. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to admire the Bouza family’s classic car collection.
Next, after approximately 45 minutes, you'll enjoy a tasting of four selected wines: a glass of Bouza Chardonnay, a glass of Parcela Unica Merlot, a glass of Monte Vide Eu, and a glass of Bouza Tannat, all accompanied by a selection of snacks crafted to perfectly complement the wines.
Following the tasting, we will proceed to the winery’s restaurant for a lunch with a 3-course paired menu. You’ll have the option to choose from four dishes for your starter, main course, and dessert, with the opportunity to receive pairing suggestions to enhance your dining experience.
For those seeking an even more comprehensive experience, there is an option to indulge in a 7-course menu instead of three. This option allows you to savor the top seven dishes from the menu paired with seven of the winery’s finest wines, including the “grappa” pomace distillate and Gin Bo-Bo. Each dish is meticulously designed to achieve the optimal pairing with each wine.
After lunch, which lasts about an hour and a half, this enriching experience at Bodega Bouza comes to a close. If you opt for the semi-private transfer service, it will conveniently return you to your hotel in downtown Montevideo.
